A group is putting together two rare Grumman Mallard flying boat charters in October this year between Darwin and Rathmines near Newcastle to celebrate the Catalina Festival on Lake Macquarie.
The first charter, operated by the Paspaley Group Mallard, will depart Darwin on October 17 and stop at Groote Island, Karumba, Undara, Hamilton Island, Hardy Reef and Fraser Island, and will time its arrival at Rathmines to coincide with the start of the festival.
