Hong Kong Airlines will launch an all premium service on luxury fitted A330-200s.

Budget carriers may be all the rage, but Hong Kong Airlines is placing a bet at the other end of the price spectrum.

The five year old operator plans to launch a premium class service with “private jet style ambience” between Hong Kong and London in March.

The daily, overnight flights will be operated by a dedicated fleet of three brand new Airbus A330-200s configured into an “all Club Class” seating configuration of just 116 seats – a little over a third the number of a normal A330 configuration.

Club Premier will include 34 suites with fully flat beds, fine dining with individual table settings and turndown service with duvets, pyjamas and slippers.

The somewhat less posh Club Classic section with feature 82 cradle seats configured 2-2-2 over a pair of cabins. All passengers will have access to WiFi, AVOD, digital magazines and high definition widescreen entertainment systems.

The flights will depart Hong Kong at 11:50 pm and arrive at London Gatwick at 5:55 am. Return service leaves London at 9:30 pm and arrives in Hong Kong at 6:05 am.

A spokesman for the airline said fares have not yet been announced. The flights are scheduled to begin on March 8.
