Passenger numbers for Melbourne Airport fell slightly during October despite an increase in international travel, the airport said.
Domestic travel was down by six per cent from October last year to 1.85 million passengers, reflecting the Qantas disruption in the latter part of the month and continued restrictions on Tiger Airways, according to the airport.

International travellers increased by seven per cent to 567,050. That was led by a continued trend toward Asian tourism, with passengers from China increasing by 28 per cent from last year. Travellers from the US, by contrast, rose 2.3 per cent.
Total passenger numbers fell by three per cent to 2.4 million.
