Qantas says its flight operations are back to normal today, after resuming flights yesterday following its self imposed grounding over the weekend.
The airline says all flights are operating on time and on schedule, after yesterday operating 65 international and 139 domestic flights.

“The majority of international passengers across the Qantas network were accommodated on services yesterday afternoon and overnight,” the airline said in a statement.
“Qantas domestic operations have also returned to normal today and the remaining back log of domestic passengers is scheduled to be cleared by early afternoon.”
Meanwhile, Virgin Australia announced yesterday that it had “added around 7000 extra seats across our network over the past couple of days, with the help of our alliance partner Skywest Airlines; introduced ‘Stranded Passenger’ fares for those that are stranded at a port away from home and holding a Qantas ticket… and … Put on extra team members at airports and in our call centres to support our guests.
Finally, Etihad announced it has dropped plans to operate supplementary flights between Bangkok and Sydney “following news that Qantas is progressively reinstating its normal schedule”.
