Qantas says a trial run of its wi-fi based Q Streaming inflight entertainment system has met with an extremely positive response as the carrier finalises plans to deploy the system across its wider fleet.
Developed by Lufthansa Systems, the wireless IFE gives passengers access to more than 200 hours of programming streamed directly to iPads supplied by Qantas. From mid-February passengers will also be able to access the content via their own laptops, smartphones, tablets or other wireless devices.

The trial system is available on a dedicated Boeing 767-300 (VH-OGH) operating on the airline’s domestic network.
With the trial set to finish at the end of February, Qantas said it would continue to enable passengers on the trial 767 to access the Q Streaming content via their own Wi-Fi devices as it moves forward with plans to extend the service to other aircraft.
