The Victorian government has invited regional airports across the state to apply for infrastructure grants under a $20 million Regional Aviation Fund (RAF).
“Regional airports help drive economic activity through transport, tourism and air freight, while also enabling the delivery of a range of essential emergency services,” Minister for the Aviation Industry Gordon Rich-Phillips said during a visit to Bendigo Airport last week, according to a statement release by his office.

Bendigo Airport has received $5 million in RAF funds for Stage 3 of its infrastructure redevelopment project, which includes an upgrade of the airport’s main north-south runway.
Typical projects eligible for RAF funding include runway and taxiway upgrades, levelling and strengthening of aprons, upgrading aircraft parking areas and sealing internal roads.
