Sydney based Quickstep Holdings Limited has secured a contract to manufacture carbon fibre wing flaps for Lockheed Martin’s C-130J airlifter.
Quickstep said the deal would be worth an estimated $75 to $100 million over five years and could create more than 60 new jobs at the company’s Bankstown Airport facility.

The wing flaps were previously supplied by Boeing Aerostructures Australia. Quickstep secured right of first refusal on most of Boeing’s existing C-130J manufacturing facilities at Bankstown after Boeing announced that it would relocate from Sydney to Melbourne.
“It is good news for manufacturing in Australia demonstrating that we can keep manufacturing work in country through innovation and high-end capabilities,” Quickstep Managing Director Philippe Odouard said.
Quickstep moved to Bankstown from Western Australia last year after securing a major deal with Northrup Grumman to produce carbon composite parts for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
