Qantas Freight Enterprises has announced plans for a weekly cargo flight from Sydney to Chongqing, China, with continuing service to Chicago.
The service, which will make its maiden voyage tomorrow, will depart Sydney on Friday evenings as QF7583. It arrives in Chongqing early Saturday morning before departing for Chicago via Shanghai that afternoon. The flight will return as QF7552 arriving in Sydney early Monday morning.

Qantas said the new service would give it access to a major Chinese industrial hub and would expand its presence in the Chinese market to nine cities.
“Qantas Freight Enterprises is very confident in the potential of Chongqing which is home to over 32 million people and hosts many of the world’s largest hi-tech electronic and automotive manufacturers,” Qantas Freight Enterprises Executive Manager Lisa Brock said.
Qantas Freight, the international cargo division of the Qantas Group, operates a fleet of three Boeing 747 and one Boeing 767 freighters (pictured) and manages the cargo capacity on Qantas and Jetstar international passenger flights.
