WA’s state aviation strategy

Perth Airport’s annual passenger growth could quadruple over the next 17 years to 40 million — more than double that estimated by the airport owners, according to a new issues paper that throws into question infrastructure planning assumptions for both terminals and an extra parallel runway to handle demand.

A Western Australian State aviation strategy issues paper just released for comment has warned that “even that figure which represents a growth of 7.70 per cent a year is conservative given over the past five years passenger numbers have soared by 9.2 per cent a year.”
