A Lasting Legacy

“Evacuate, evacuate, two by two, jump and sit, evacuate, evacuate!” The commands were bellowed with such volume that you couldn’t fail to obey.

In early June I was fortunate enough to take part in a Qantas ‘behind the scenes’ media visit to some of the airline’s operational facilities at its Mascot HQ and Jet Base at Sydney Airport, and we had just been given a demonstration of how a flight attendant would operate his or her aircraft door in the event of an emergency evacuation.
