Singapore Airlines will roll out a $50 million program bringing in-flight internet and mobile data services to its long haul network.
The services are available from today aboard 14 aircraft and will be extended across the airline’s fleet of A380, A340 and 777 aircraft over the next two years.

Promotional prices for in-flight wifi run from US$10 for 10 megabytes of data to US$25 for 30 megabytes. SIA said it would also offer discounted roaming rates for in-flight text messaging and GPRS data services.
“There will be much more investment in the months and years ahead to keep our customers both connected and entertained,” said SIA’s senior vice president for product and services Tan Pee Teck. “As our customers’ preferences toward entertainment and connectivity options change over time, so must we.”
The roll out of the wireless service follows a soft launch earlier this year.
