In another announcement from the Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Transport at the RAAA’s annual convention this morning, Anthony Albanese MP has pledged $320,000 to facilitate the installation of security screening equipment at Dubbo Airport.
As the airport embraces higher capacity aircraft operations and seeks to expand its domestic network, it is forced to make alterations to its terminal building to be able to accommodate passenger and baggage screening.

Yesterday at the RAAA conference, outgoing Chairman of the Association, Michael Bridge, expressed concern about the need for regional airports to have to commit to the high levels of expenditure associated with passenger and baggage screening when larger airports in New Zealand do not require it.
The Government argues that passengers on regional air services are entitled to the same standards and protections as passengers on mainline and international flights.
