Julian Green has joined Australian Aviation as editor.

Julian Green has joined the team at Australian Aviation as Editor.  Having returned to Australia from the UK where he was CEO of Jersey Airport for more than six years, he returns to his roots in the industry.  Julian was a contributor to Australian Aviation in the ’90s, specialising in commercial aviation stories and photography, a role he relishes returning to.

“It’s been a very deliberate return to a profession I truly enjoy. There is no greater diversity than working across the many facets of aviation, whether it’s on the shop floor of a hangar or listening to the innovations of a successful CEO,” he explained.

Julian will work closely with Australian Aviation Managing Editor & Publisher Gerard Frawley, both on the day-to-day running of the magazine and in developing the magazine’s longer term strategy across print and digital mediums.

“It gives me tremendous satisfaction to be able to work alongside a very professional editorial team and for a publication that has a strong reputation in the industry.  My role will be to represent the aviation industry with impartial views on its successes and failures, and to highlight how it’s continually adapting to the ever-changing political and economic climate.  In its own right, Australian Aviation has to adapt to remain relevant to its readership and to ensure it continues to fulfil the expectations of readers at a time when the publishing industry itself contends with significant change.”

Prior to working in the UK, Julian was CEO of Newcastle Airport between 2001 and 2005, and previously held management roles with Sydney Airports Corporation and Qantas.

I’m sure you’re going to enjoy the view from your chair Gerard’s ‘old’ office!

    Catch you soon.

    Welcome back home Julian.

As well as contributing in word form, your artful camera skills have shown you can compose shots that capture grace and form not to mention the odd good pic of an aeroplane.

Continue to get behind that camera and publish some every now and again.

    Norman King.
