Qantas will add 1,700 seats a week between Melbourne and Tasmania when it introduces Q400 flights to Hobart, Launceston and Devonport.
Hobart will see another 1,030 seats each week in an additional frequency operated by QantasLink Q400s, complementing the existing twice daily Boeing 737 services.

Launceston will receive another 690 seats, with the number of weekly return services increasing from 17 to 28, while two existing Q300 services to Devonport will be upgraded to the Q400.
In May 2012 Jetstar announced an additional 28 flights a week offering 10,000 more seats into Hobart and Launceston.
Qantas group airlines now operate more than 230 return services into Tasmania.
