Emirates A380 engine fire forces Sydney turnback

A fire in an engine aboard an Emirates A380 soon after departure from Sydney forced the crew to return to the airport on November 11.

Flight EK413, with 380 passengers aboard, was 11 minutes out from Sydney when what Emirates referred to as “an engine fault” caused the crew to abort the flight and return to Sydney where the aircraft underwent an engine change at the Qantas Jet Base.
