The arrival of Qantas’s latest Airbus A330-200, VH-EBV Kangaroo Island has provided the platform for the airline to announce that from May it will deploy A330s on all weekday flights between Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

The move is in response to a growing business market, with Qantas domestic CEO Lyell Strambi saying the airline has signed a number of new corporate accounts in recent months, “many of who have tried other airlines and returned to Qantas.”

Qantas operates around 100 return flights a week between Sydney, Perth and Melbourne, which is “40 per cent more than our competitor,” Strambi said.  The A330 is configured with 36 business and 268 economy seats.

Continuing the strong competitive stance, Strambi added: “In addition to our fleet of new aircraft, our superior network, frequencies, lounges, on-time performance, and frequent flyer program, have seen us maintain our status as best for business and premium travellers,” he said.
