China has become the first country outside the United States to take delivery of 1000 Boeing aircraft, reflecting the country’s growing involvement in Boeing production.
According to the U.S. jet maker, more than 7000 Boeing aircraft worldwide include major parts and assemblies produced in China, with Chinese companies contributing to all current Boeing production aircraft.

“Boeing greatly values China as both a customer and a supplier partner.” said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner. “This delivery symbolizes the tremendous accomplishments we have achieved together along with the significant trust and confidence that Chinese airlines have placed in Boeing’s products and services.”
Boeing estimates that China will need 5,260 new commercial aircraft worth $670 billion over the next 20 years.
The 1000th aircraft, a 737-800 featuring a special peacock livery, was delivered to China Eastern Yunnan Airlines. China Eastern currently operates the country’s largest 737 fleet.
