Boeing has opened an expanded delivery centre for its twin-aisle jetliners, a somewhat awkwardly timed event given that its most eagerly anticipated offering remains grounded by safety authorities.
The expanded Everett Delivery Centre, located at Boeing headquarters in Washington state, boats three floors of amenities including a customer lounge, cafe, more than 20 conference rooms, four contract signing rooms and 35 offices. Its central feature, the ‘customer event area’, offers sweeping view of the Olympic Mountains rising beyond the flightline and Paine Field.

The new centre triples the amount of office and conference space at the old EDC and is meant to enhance operational efficiency, Boeing said.
“Last year we delivered a record 183 airplanes and this new facility will help us continue to increase deliveries,” said Tom Maxwell, Everett Delivery Center vice president. “The expanded space will also allow us to keep pace with customer demands.”
The centre will be used for 747-8, 767, 777 and 787 deliveries.
