Lovitt Technologies Australia (LTA) has been awarded a further contract for work in the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program. Lockheed Martin has contracted the Melbourne-based firm to produce titanium keels in a three-year contract worth an estimated US$2.945 million.
LTA participated in a global competition, winning the order for more than 300 parts, guaranteeing high technology work at the company’s Montmornecy, Victoria facility. The titanium longeron keels form part of the linkage between two structural bulkheads in the aft portion of the inner wing assembly and provide structural integrity of the aircraft wings.
