Lockheed Martin forms consortium for new ATM tender

Lockheed Martin will team with four leading air traffic management (ATM) technology providers in bidding for the oneSKY Australia tender. oneSKY is the project name given to the procurement by Airservices and Defence of Australia’s new generation ATM system, which  expected to be operational before the end of the decade.

Australia’s Adacel Technologies, Daronmont Technologies and Frequentis Australasia will join Lockheed Martin in the bid, together with Airbus ProSky and its subsidiary Metron Aviation.

Lockheed Martin’s Skyline Enterprise ATM package will feature capabilities that include Adacel Technologies’ flightpath conflict detection tool and Frequentis Australasia’s voice communications and integrated tower products. Daronmont Technologies, a small-medium enterprise will provide extensive experience in engineering and deployment of complex systems to the Department of Defence. Metron Aviation provides air traffic flow management tools to Airservices.

Skyline, which is already in service with military and civilian operators uses software operating at 38 enroute centres, 121 approach control facilities and four oceanic/procedural control facilities controlling more than 60 per cent of the world’s air traffic. The flight data processing system supports user-preferred routes, enhancing on-time performance and fuel efficiency.
