Boeing delivered a record 648 aircraft in 2013.

Boeing says it experienced a record year for commercial aircraft deliveries in 2013, handing over 648 airliners and finishing the year with a 5,080 strong aircraft order backlog. 2013 was also the company’s second biggest year for new orders, booking 1,532 new orders (and net orders of 1,355 after cancellations).

The 737, 777 and 787 programs all recorded recorded delivery numbers in 2013, at 440, 98 and 65 aircraft respectively.

Boeing has also had a successful start to 2014, with its Everett machinist workforce ratify new industrial agreements that will see the 777X (and its new composite wing) assembled there, while Emirates sister airline flydubai has signed contracts for its previously announced orders for 75 737 MAX 8s and 11 737-800s.
