The US Navy has announced that Raytheon will be retained as the successful prime contractor for that service’s Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) requirement after it complied with a US Government Accountability Office ruling.
The GAO had upheld a protest against Raytheon’s selection by rival BAE Systems in November, and conducted a new cost and technical analysis of the competing bids.

“The Navy has completed corrective action as recommended by the GAO in the sustained protest filed by BAE Systems on the Next Generation Jammer Technology Development (TD) contract,” US Navy spokesman Cmdr Thurraya Kent told Reuters, but no additional details were provided.
The NGJ will replace the ageing AN/ALQ-99 jammer pod system currently employed by EA-18G Growler and EA-6B Prowler electronic attack aircraft.
