Embraer’s newest executive jet has received type certification from the Brazilian Civil Aviation Authority and first delivery of the Legacy 500 is scheduled for September.
The Legacy 500 was certified by Brazil’s regulator on August 12, with certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration expected in “upcoming weeks”, Embraer said in a statement.

Certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency would follow the FAA.
The aircraft, powered by two Honeywell HTF7500E engines, can fly up to 3,125nm with four passengers, Embraer said, which would allow non-stop flights between Sydney and Jakarta.
“With greater range and better field performance than originally planned, the Legacy 500 sets a new standard for the midsize class,” Embraer Executive Jets chief executive Marco Tulio Pellegrini said.
Embraer said up to six aircraft would be produced in 2014.
