Nine final MiG-29s, formerly serving with the German Luftwaffe, were delivered to the Polish air force at Bydgoszcz on August 4.

A total of 23 aircraft, including four two-seaters were to be delivered, but one was in poor condition, and was stripped of spares and donated to a German air museum.
