Scoot focuses on hubbing in Singapore as it prepares for the 787

As a new airline with a small, albeit expanding route network, Scoot is exposed more than most to sudden changes in the markets to which it flies.

Two years ago, when the low-cost carrier’s first flight took off from Singapore bound for Sydney, the NSW capital seemed the ideal market given a buoyant Australian economy, a currency that sat above parity with the US dollar and this country’s almost insatiable appetite for overseas travel.
