The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has granted Jetgo a high capacity jet RPT air operator’s certificate (AOC), clearing the way for the airline to commence scheduled airline services.
“Although it took us two years in the planning and preparation, we cannot speak more highly of the CASA team at the Sydney Region Office that handled our application,” Jetgo managing director for airlines Paul Bredereck said.

“Whilst they were extremely thorough, they were fair, knowledgeable and very professional.”
Jetgo, which to date has been a charter and fly-in/fly-out operator using Embraer 135 jets, will commence Sydney to Roma services on November 10, the airline said in a statement.
The airline is conducting a promotional tour in both Roma and Gladstone on Friday October 10, when ticket prices and flight details were expected to be unveiled.
Jetgo chief executive Jason Ryder said Embraer services would reduce travel times between Sydney and regional Queensland, compared with services that required a change of aircraft in Brisbane.
The new scheduled flights would be initially flown with 36-seat Embraer ERJ 135 aircraft. However, Jetgo was due to receive the first of three 44-seat ERJ 140LRs before the end of 2014, enabling the carrier to switch its RPT services to the larger aircraft.

says:Wow, good on you JetGo! It seems obvious to bypass Brisbane and head straight to the mines out west, but I guess no airline has tried pursuing a route like that before. It will be interesting to see how these JetGo services from Sydney to Roma go up against Qantas flying from Sydney to Toowoomba several times a week.
