The aircraft, a 36-seat Embraer ERJ 135 jet, was greeted by an Airservices ARFF water cannon salute as it taxied to the terminal.
Jetgo is offering double-daily services between Sydney and Gladstone, breaking the QantasLink monopoly previously on the route.
The airline, which was primarily a charter and fly-in/fly-out operator prior to gaining its high capacity jet RPT Air Operator’s Certificate in October, is adding a second RPT service in January when it commences flights between Brisbane and Tamworth.

says:I’ve just booked a flight with them in 2 weeks. $398 return – bargain! Can’t wait to travel in my first ERJ-135. Whilst I’m not a Qantas basher, I dare say the experience might be nicer than a Q400…fingers crossed they’re still flying in 2 weeks…..
