Singapore Airlines-owned long-haul low-cost carrier Scoot has announced it will upgrade its Perth services to a daily frequency from February 1 next year, and at the same time has confirmed the WA capital will be the first destination to be served by its new 787 aircraft.

“Having flown close to 150,000 guests to and from Perth, we’re thrilled with the fantastic response to this route in the past 12 months,” said Scoot CEO Campbell Wilson.

“I’m also pleased to announce that starting in early 2015, Perth will be the inaugural destination for our 787 Dreamliner. The 787 is a game changer for Scoot and reinforces our commitment to being the best Long Haul Low Cost Airline. Scoot’s 787s will deliver better comfort, a wider selection of amenities including on-board Wi-Fi, while enabling us to maintain our great value airfares so our guests can get outta here more often.”

Airline schedules have shown that Scoot plans to begin 787 services to Perth from January 1, but Friday’s announcement is Scoot’s first official confirmation that Perth will be its first 787 destination.

Earlier this week Scoot announced plans to begin flights to Melbourne from next November.

Scoot launched five-times-weekly services to Perth on December 12 2013.

Funny how Qantas couldn’t make a dime out of Perth dropping there Singapore, Hong Kong routes earlier this year and now Scoot and Cathy pacific are upping the anti out of there, not to mention the other major airlines that have increased flights since Qantas has seen fit to pull the plug on all international from Perth,
.the one thing Qantas should drop is there CEO

Yep Peter its a disgrace, the worse thing is if Qantas try and re enter the perth market they will struggle to attract customers back. We have been shunned by Qantas and many will simply by pass them when considering international travel
