The initial Lockheed Martin F/A-22 Raptor to serve with the USAF’s first operational squadron, Raptor 4041, will join the 1st Fighter Wing’s 27th Fighter squadron, the USAF’s oldest fighter squadron, at Langley AFB, Virginia early in 2005.

Following rollout on October 27 the aircraft has been undertaking post-production preparations and test flights.
