The Skyteam member is adding a fourth weekly flight to the West Australian capital from its Guangzhou hub from July 16 until October 26, at which time it will introduce a fifth service that will operate until March 2016.

Meanwhile, Melbourne will go from 10 to 14 flights a week in September, before increasing further to 18 flights a week from December until March.

China Southern Australia and New Zealand managing director Louis Lu said the additional flights demonstrated the airline’s ongoing commitment to Australia.

“We have great confidence in the Australian market,” Lu said in a statement on Monday.

“Australians love to travel and China Southern Airlines has the most developed route network anywhere in Asia.”

China Southern also plans to boost its Guangzhou-Sydney service to triple daily between December and March, while Brisbane will have a daily service to Guangzhou, up from five times a week currently, between October and March.

Qantas adds its QF code to China Southern’s services out of Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney as part of a codeshare agreement signed in December 2013 and extended in April 2014.
