International passengers flying out of Brisbane Airport have a new option to relax before their flight with the opening of a pay-in lounge and spa.
Brisbane Airport and lounge operators Plaza Premium Group officially opened the facility on September 29, following a soft launch in June with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional lion dance.

The lounge gives those without a shiny gold or platinum frequent flyer card and travelling in economy an alternative to waiting for their flight in the terminal as it is open to all travellers for a fee.
Open daily between 0500 and 2300, the lounge is open to any international passenger, with entry priced at $66 for five hours. Eligible credit card holders and members of selected lounge access programs would be granted complimentary access.
The Plaza Premium Lounge in Brisbane was the first lounge built under the company’s own brand in Australia. Plaza Premium manages the American Express lounge and Skyteam lounge in Sydney.
“As the world’s largest independent airport lounge, we are very excited to join hands with Brisbane Airport Corporation to introduce our independent airport lounge concept to Australia,” Plaza Premium Group founder and chief executive Song Hoi See said in a statement.
“Sharing a passion for enhancing travellers’ experience in airports brought us together. Our collaboration will set a new standard for premium airport services in the region.”
The 4,500 square feet lounge is located on level four of the international departures area and has seating for about 100 people. It features complimentary wi-fi, a hot buffet, alcoholic drinks and barista-made coffee, as well as a shower.
Meanwhile, separate Wellness Spa, also managed by Plaza Premium, offered massages and other treatments from professionally trained therapists.
Brisbane Airport has four airline lounges at the international terminal, operated by Singapore Airlines, Qantas, Emirates and Air New Zealand.
