The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) has announced the recipients of its 2016 scholarships.
The two Ansett Aviation Training Scholarships went to Brenton Anderson from Airline Academy of Australia and James Trudgett from Moorabbin Flying Services. The pair will undergo a complete endorsement on the Beechcraft Super Kingair B200 or Fairchild Metroliner III/23.

The Hawker Pacific Avionics Scholarship was awarded to Karl Spiessl from Aviation Training Services Victoria, who will attend the AEA International Convention and Trade Show in New Orleans, Louisiana from 13-16 March 2017. Spiessl also received the Jeppesen Avionics Scholarship worth $5,000 towards his training.
Jack Wilson from the University of New South Wales received the Jeppesen Pilot Scholarship, also worth $5,000 towards his training.
The RAAA Hawker Pacific Airframe Scholarship went to Alexander Blanch from Sharp Airlines, who receives $5,000 towards the cost of training.
“For our industry to flourish we need dedicated engineers and pilots and this year we were delighted with the quality and detail included by all the applicants,” RAAA chief executive Mike Higgins said in a statement.
“This made it very difficult to pick the winners but nevertheless this is what we had to do.”
The winners were presented with their scholarships at the recently concluded RAAA national convention, held at the Crowne Plaza hotel Hunter Valley, from October 12-14.
