Nestled away toward the end of the New Allocations listing this month is Qantas’ first Boeing 787 Dreamliner ZNA.

The 787 is a mid-sized, wide body, twin jet designed to replace the Boeing 767 but 20% more fuel efficient. Jetstar has already received eleven of the smaller 787-8 models whereas Qantas has ordered eight of the 787-9 models with a lengthened and strengthened fuselage and able to accommodate an extra 40 passengers. Worldwide deliveries of the 787-9 began in 2014 with now over 250 delivered and more than 680 on order.
