In a week where Virgin Australia named a new chief executive, this week’s Throwback Thursday looks at the last time there was leadership change at the top of the airline. This story from the January/February 2010 edition of Australian Aviation magazine features Gerard Frawley’s interview with Brett Godfrey as he prepared to step down as Virgin Blue chief executive.

    They definitely were heady days…but it worked. It is a shame that the current status of VA is not as simple as all of that….It’s what happens when a airline grows and the personal touch goes . Now owned by a Chinese company – everything is based on profit at any cost and sometimes that includes the people/workers who get churned over on a regular basis whilst being put under incredible pressures on a daily basis.
