An Antonov AN-24 flying a domestic route in the Russian Federation has veered off the runway and crashed into a building, killing two members of the flight crew.
The incident involving Angara Airlines from Ulan-Ude to Nizhneangarsk, operated by AN-24 RA-47366 flight 2G 200, occurred on June 27.

The Aviation Herald said the captain and a flight engineer were killed, while the first officer and flight attendant, as well as the 43 passengers, survived the accident. Seven people were injured.
“The aircraft landed on Nizhneangarsk’s runway 22 in the touch down zone at 10:24L (02:24Z) following a stable approach, rolled out on the center line for some distance, then veered right off the runway, went over soft ground and impacted a building, a fire broke out,” The Aviation Herald report said.
“The airline reported RA-47366 performing flight 2G-200 from Ulan-Ude to Nizhneangarsk made an emergency landing at Nizhneangarsk, veered off the runway and collided with ground infrastructure.
“As result of the collision a fire occurred.
“Rosaviatsia reported the crew declared “Distress” about 30km (16nm) from the airport reporting the failure of the left hand engine.
“Emergency services took their stand by positions for the arrival.”

The AN-24 is a Russian manufactured and designed twin-engine turboprop that has been used by both civil and military operators.
The Aviation Herald said the Captain had 34 years of experience and 15,702 hours total, while the first officer had 20 years of experience and 6,315 hours total and the flight engineer 35 years of experience and 13,728 hours.
Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee is investigating the accident.
Angara Airlines said in a statement on its website representatives from head office had flown to the crash site.
Further 32 passengers and the two surviving crew members have been flown to Irkutsk.
Angara Airlines said it planned to file a petition to the Ministry of Transport for flight attendant Laputskaya Elena Viktorovna and co-pilot Sazonov Sergey Alexandrovich to receive an award for professionalism, courage and heroism shown during the rescue of passengers.
