Pel-Air wins 10-year NSW Ambulance contract

Pel-Air has landed a 10-year contract to provide five fixed-wing planes, pilots and engineering support to NSW Ambulance from January 2022.

The airline, based in Mascot, Sydney, already has a similar deal in place with Ambulance Victoria.

Pel-Air, a subsidiary of ASX-listed REX, operates turboprop and jet aircraft in Australia and around the world.

Its fleet of 16 aircraft includes the Saab 340, Westwind 1124, Learjet 35/36 and Beechcraft King Air B200C, and has further access to more than 50 Saab 340 aircraft owned by REX.

    Let’s hope the transition is smoother than it was in Victoria. There wasn’t too much customer satisfaction in the first couple of years of that contract.

    Wait till they issue the usual ultimatum… “oh we bid so so low on this contract that we now aren’t able to make a profit on it… we won’t fulfil it unless you pay us more.”
