Defence has issued New Zealand-based firm Fulton Hogan a $7.7 million contract to upgrade RAAF Base Gingin in WA.
The contract is will see the business undertake aircraft pavement and aeronautical ground lighting works at the pilot training airfield.

Fulton Hogan has committed to awarding at least 75 per cent of the subcontract packages to local businesses, employing a 6 per cent Indigenous workforce, and awarding 6 per cent of the contract value to Indigenous companies.
The construction work is expected to commence in May and conclude in September.
It’s been funded via the government’s $149 million National Airfields Capital Works Project and is expected to support the local economy, with an estimated construction workforce of up to 80 personnel per day.
Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said, “The airfield maintenance works at RAAF Base Gingin will ensure the airfield is fit for purpose at all times to enable military aircraft to continue to operate safely and effectively.
“The project will provide a welcome boost to the WA economy and maximise opportunities for local businesses to be involved.”
This undertaking is the third works package funded via the National Airfields Capital Works Project with the first two works completed at Army Aviation Centre Oakey, Queensland, and RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria.
