Jetstar Asia has announced it is kickstarting its services between Singapore to Perth from February 2022 for the first time since early last year.
The Western Australia capital is considered Singapore’s most popular destination and Jetstar Asia says there is “considerable pent-up demand” for the route to restart.

From 12 February, four weekly flights to Perth will operate under Singapore’s new Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) if approved, which allows for fully vaccinated two-way quarantine-free travel.
It comes as Western Australia’s Premiere Mark McGowan announced in early November state borders to NSW, Victoria and overseas travelers would reopen once the state hits its 90 per cent vaccination rates in people aged 12 and over.
The Premier believes this should be achieved in January or February next year.
Jetstar Asia’s head of commercial, Clive Ashmore Butler said: “Perth has always been an incredibly popular destination for Singaporeans, one that they would return to time and again.
“Western Australia offers stunning beaches, wineries and restaurants, not to mention easy access to incredible places such as Margaret River and Ningaloo, but with many Singaporeans living in Perth, it importantly enables family and friends to reconnect, some for the first time in two years.”
The fares are currently available to purchase now for Perth and other Australian destinations, including Darwin and Melbourne, where services will begin in December.
Revealing his roadmap out of COVID-related border closures, Premier McGowan confirmed that once the 90 per cent target is reached in WA, travel “from all jurisdictions across Australia”, as well as overseas, will once again be permitted.
All travellers into the state will need to be fully vaccinated and return a negative COVID PCR test 72 hours prior to departure.
Arrivals will also need to perform a second PCR test within 48 hours of entering WA.
Despite WA’s slower reopening of borders, under the VTL, from 21 November, vaccinated Singaporeans will be allowed to travel to Australia without quarantine.
Citizens, permanent residents and immediate families will initially only be allowed to enter via Sydney or Melbourne.
Singapore sends over 400,000 visitors to Australia yearly, and in 2019, they were revealed to be Perth’s biggest spending tourists, cashing out almost $200 a day before the pandemic began.
Butler said in return, Singapore is excited to welcome back Western Australians to the “Lion City” while also giving them access to codeshare and interline partners, including its Southeast Asian network to Bangkok and Phuket.
