There is movement in the ‘aviation station’ and it’s called jobs, slow and steady but definitely more openings on the interweb. But wait, there’s more welcome news in the form an enormous shift occurring in HR departments globally. I attribute this partially to our recent downturn. You might call it a dismantling of the old ways and a drive to invest in new a way of hiring and managing people.
Upside #1 – The evolution of ‘human skills”
The word human is at the centre of this change, seeking out those human skills that motivate and connect us. You will have seen words or phrases such as ‘empathy’, ‘connected’ or ‘inclusive’ popping up in job descriptions. Advertisers ask for a ‘broad mindset’ or the ability to ‘self manage’ positioning those attributes at the same importance level as qualifications and experience.
