The Flying Doctor Welcomes Rotary Capability

Founded in 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has provided a mantle of safety for regional and remote communities for 94 years. From humble beginnings in rural Australia, the RFDS has grown over the decades to become an Australia-wide aeromedical provider.

The RFDS offers 24-hour intensive care support covering over 7.69 million square kilometres, with Western Australia being its single largest jurisdiction. This year the RFDS is bringing a new type of aircraft to Western Australian skies. Two EC-145s are joining the fleet, taking the Flying Doctor boldly into a new chapter of rotary aeromedical care.
