HARS reveals major B707 project update
The Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) has provided a number of updates on its ongoing project to return ‘the last of the hotrods’ Boeing 707-138 back to Australian shores. The aircraft, formerly registered as VH-EBM, is iconic for more reason than one.
Firstly, it is the last of 13 made-to-order Boeing 707s delivered to Qantas, which welcomed the airline into the jet age. Secondly, the plane was formerly owned and operated by none other than movie star John Travolta, who intended to offload the aircraft due to its high maintenance costs.
