The contract will provide support to the ADF’s flight recorder and locating equipment (FRLE) across a number of aircraft fleets, and will deliver logistics, flight data analysis and maintenance readouts, as well as repair of specialised equipment.

The proactive use of digital flight data is expected to support improvements in aviation safety across operations and help to reduce risk.

Aerodynamic is an Australian-owned and operated small-to-medium enterprise that specialises in providing advanced flight data solutions to a variety of customers.

Director General Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons Commodore Darren Rae said the ADF will have an entirely sovereign-based flight data monitoring support solution delivered by a long-term and trusted partner.

“This support contract will help us meet the dynamic and challenging requirements of military aviation across the ADF and all employees and services for this contract will be located in Australia, further supporting local industry and the community,” CDRE Rae said.

Directors of Aerodynamic Darren and Keelan Privitera said it was an honour to build on their longstanding 22-year relationship with the ADF and provide services to support the availability and longevity of the ADF’s FRLE capability.

“This contract draws on our decades of experience in providing specialised FRLE-specific products and services to our worldwide customer base in both civil and defence sectors,” Keelan Privitera said.

The initial FRLE contract is for five years and includes extension options for future support.
