Singapore Airlines (SIA) will add a fifth daily Sydney-Singapore service, as well as three more weekly Adelaide services, from October next year.
Starting on 27 October 2024, Sydney will see an additional daily 777-300ER flight at 6:45am, while Adelaide will have a new 787-10 service on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, taking its SIA services to 10 per week. Both will be available for the six-month northern winter period.

“Locking in these increased services for the year-end peak period provides a great opportunity for Australians to start planning their 2024 travel to secure the best fares possible,” said Singapore Airlines’ regional vice president south west Pacific, Louis Arul.
“We are pleased to be able to bring our Sydney flights back to our pre-Covid frequency of five flights daily.
“Demand for travel to and from Sydney has bounced back strongly from the pandemic and the additional daily service will provide further room for growth as travellers enjoy more connecting options through Singapore Changi Airport to major cities in Asia and Europe.”
The new 777-300ER flight, complementing two existing daily A380 services plus an A350-900 service and a 777-300ER service, will make Sydney SIA’s largest port outside of Singapore, with 12,000 seats per week between the two cities. Geoff Culbert, CEO of Sydney Airport, dubbed Sydney SIA’s “home away from home”.
“Not only will this extra flight from Singapore Airlines offer Australians heading overseas more choice, but it will also help boost the number of visitors, especially from Asia and Europe,” he said.
“It looks like 2024 is going to be a bumper year for international travel at Sydney Airport, with extra capacity coming online not just from Singapore but also from other key markets, including China and Indonesia.”
Sydney is connected to Singapore via Singapore Airlines, its low-cost arm Scoot, British Airways, and Qantas, while SIA offers the only Singapore service from Adelaide. Scoot is also increasing capacity from Sydney to Singapore, with 12 weekly return flights starting in December.
In total, as of December, the four airlines will between them offer 69 return Sydney-Singapore services per week.
SIA has previously announced boosts to its Australian network in May and August this year.
