Brisbane Airport has broken ground on a massive $50 million parcel facility for Australia Post.
The 33,800sqm Brisbane North Parcel Facility, part of Brisbane Airport’s industrial park, will be Australia Post’s second largest site in Queensland, and will include a custom-built 31,800sqm warehouse alongside 2,000sqm of commercial office space and 350 car spaces.

According to Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan de Graaff, the StarTrack Premium facility – which will be able to process 176,000 parcels per day, scaling up during peak periods, when it opens in mid-2025 – will be “the largest industrial project ever constructed at Brisbane Airport”.
“By providing Australia Post with direct airside access, we’re streamlining the delivery of time-sensitive parcels, benefitting millions of Queenslanders in the South East and regional areas of the state,” he said.
“Not only do we offer direct tarmac access, but Brisbane’s arterial road network is right on our doorstep. We are proud to develop projects that enable Queensland to grow and connect to the world.”
Paul Graham, CEO of Australia Post, said the development will support the growing population of South East Queensland, which is expected to hit six million by 2032.
“Queensland continues to experience year-on-year eCommerce growth, with 82 per cent of Queenslanders making an online purchase in the past year. This new Parcel Facility will help us respond to that demand and deliver parcels to customers’ doors sooner,” he said.
“The Brisbane North Parcel Facility will not only increase our operational footprint but will also complement our modernisation and regional capacity network program, with 39 network operations sites upgraded in the past 12 months.
“Our delivery team will also benefit from being closer to delivery catchments, reducing their on-road time and ultimately improving services for our customers throughout South East Queensland.”
The new facility will include more than 1,000 solar panels for electricity generation, as well as other sustainability features, with the aim of securing a 5-Star Green Star certification for “energy and water efficiency, climate change resilience and reduced environmental impacts during construction”.
The expanded Brisbane Airport Industrial Park, which will also house tenants such as Martin Brower, Aramex Australia, Superior Food Services and Air Menzies, is part of Brisbane Airport’s $5 billion Future BNE program and offers connections by land, air, and sea through the Port of Brisbane.
The transformation program also includes significant upgrades to the terminals and plans for a new Terminal 3.
