The new premises at One Five Vaughan are more than double the size of the existing Bristol Street site at 903 square metres, and will allow Aviation Australia to train more students in aviation maintenance engineering.

“The facilities at Vaughan Street provide an exceptional environment for learning and innovation. The larger space and modern layout will allow us to expand our training programs, including cutting-edge areas like remote piloting and autonomous technology,” said Glenn Ryan, CEO of Aviation Australia.

“Being based in the heart of Essendon Fields, with its world-class infrastructure, is ideal for us. The transport links, ample parking, and access to fantastic amenities make this the perfect place for our staff and students to thrive.

“With all our classrooms and offices on one floor, the improved layout offers unmatched flexibility. The surroundings create a focused atmosphere for our students and apprentices, helping us deliver the highest standards of aviation training.”

Aviation Australia will join other tenants including Westpac Business Banking Centre at the Vaughan Street site. Matt Marais, GM Aviation at Essendon Fields, said the training company has been “a fantastic customer for nearly a decade”.

“Now this new facility will allow them to grow their theory training, and we understand they’re examining how to expand their operations elsewhere with hangar space at Essendon Fields as well,” he said.

“Aviation is at the heart of everything we do at Essendon Fields and our commitment to create state-of-the-art and inviting office or hangar space for our aviation tenants is critical to the ongoing success of Essendon Fields.”

The move to new facilities in Melbourne comes after Aviation Australia last year signed a new partnership with SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC) for aircraft maintenance training in Brisbane.

The deal will allow the joint delivery of the diploma of aircraft maintenance engineering (mechanical) by Aviation Australia, providing a pathway for local students in the region to attain the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 66 aircraft maintenance licence.

Students will complete the first six months of the EASA Part 147 approved basic training course (Category B1.1) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, before moving to Brisbane for the remaining 12 months of the course with Aviation Australia.
