Opinion: The real threats to air safety
Generally speaking, the period after a major tragedy – say, a helicopter crashing into a passenger jet, causing them both to plummet into a river and killing all 67 people on board both aircraft – is considered to be a time for political leadership to offer condolences, meet with families and first responders, and generally, in the name of common human decency, refrain from blaming their favourite political punching bags for the disaster.
Of course, as we are all aware, US President Donald Trump has never been in the same room as common human decency and would probably have it ejected for being “woke” if he were.
