Election 2025 will bring together leading policymakers, national security experts and thought leaders who will analyse our defence and national security capabilities.

Beijing’s recent provocation, circling Australia, shattered illusions of security and our leaders have been forced to admit the truth: we are vulnerable, exposed and at risk of foreign coercion.

Defence is no longer an afterthought and will play a central role in the 2025 election, with both parties seeking to spruik their national security, defence and industrialisation credentials.

While both the Albanese government and Peter Dutton’s Coalition have made defence commitments, experts suggest that the level of investment falls dangerously short of what’s needed to deter aggression and build real capability.

With the federal election mere weeks away, Election 2025 will bring together policymakers, decision makers and industry leaders to explore Australia’s defence and national security capabilities.

Key topics will include Australia’s defence and national security spending, accelerating critical military capabilities and securing national sovereignty – issues set to shape the defence sector for years to come.

Election 2025 will take place on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, at the Four Seasons, Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.

Why attend?

At this exclusive event, the future of Australia’s defence, national security and economic resilience will be debated, defined and decided.

The agenda will see leaders explore the government’s and opposition’s plans for Australia’s defence spending and assess their real-world implications.

Sessions will explore how organisations can accelerate critical military capabilities before it is too late and provide a platform for attendees to assess how their business fits into Australia’s defence and national security strategy.

The conference will kick off with a keynote address from the Honourable Andrew Hastie MP, shadow minister for Defence, Defence Industry and Defence Personnel, followed by a Q&A session.

Next, attendees will hear from Peter Jennings, Marcus Hellyer and Michael Shoebridge from Strategic Analysis Australia as they unpack the election’s impact on the Defence budget and the future of Australia’s Defence spending.

Other sessions include “Navigating Australia’s threat environment and the expectations of Trump 2.0”, delivered by Dr Ross Babbage of Strategic Forum Australia and the Centre for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, followed by a session titled “A Fork in the road and the future of the ADF”.

Election 2025 will kick off at 9am on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, at the Four Seasons, Sydney. Click here to buy tickets.
