AERO Asia 2025: new dates, expanded showcase, emerging topics explored

By Messe Frankfurt | July 14, 2025

AERO Asia – sister show of AERO Friedrichshafen – to be themed “A New Era: Explore More”, and focus on emerging topics such as autonomy, intelligence, and low-carbon solutions.

The second edition of one of Asia’s leading business platforms for the general aviation industry and low-altitude economy, AERO Asia 2025, will welcome key players to Zhuhai International Airshow Center, China, from 27 – 30 November 2025. After its debut in 2023 was well-received by the industry in Asia, a joint venture was recently established between original organisers Zhuhai Airshow Group and Messe Frankfurt, paving the way for a more international edition this time around.

“We are excited to bring an even more dynamic and impactful event this year,” said Mr Edward Che, Executive Director for Messe Frankfurt (Zhuhai) Airshow Co Ltd, the new JV. “With expanded exhibition space, world-class forums, and thrilling aerial demonstrations, AERO Asia 2025 will set new benchmarks for the industry. We appreciate the continued support of our partners and look forward to welcoming attendees to explore a new era in aviation.”

The show was originally scheduled for 6 – 9 November 2025, but the dates were adjusted to 27 – 30 November 2025 to avoid overlapping schedules with another significant domestic event in China. This year’s exhibition is set to cover 60,000 sqm – double the size of the previous, debut edition – and feature some 300 exhibitors, 110+ aircraft displayed, and an expected 60,000+ visitors.

The exhibition will feature five key areas, including business jet / UL / VLA / LSA; rotorcraft (helicopter & VCA); drones / intelligent application scenarios; engine / green aviation energy; and infrastructure / service / MRO / supply & components. Boosted by Messe Frankfurt’s extensive global sales network, and with the market showing high potential, the show anticipates a significant 30% surge in international exhibitor participation, and will include the European, Canada and Korea Pavilions.

China’s high-potential low-altitude economy a key growth factor

To develop the show into APAC’s premier aerospace platform, Messe Frankfurt (Zhuhai) Airshow Co Ltd aims to leverage China’s strong GA market and rapidly advancing low-altitude economy. Looking ahead, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) expects the country’s low-altitude economy to increase more than five-fold to reach RMB 3.5 trillion (USD 483 billion) by 2035, with the sector’s vast potential drawing interest from industry players all over the world.

A relatively new concept set to gain prominence at the show, the low-altitude economy generally encompasses manned and unmanned activities within airspace under 3,000 and 1,000 metres respectively. It is an area undergoing significant development in China for more effective urban and rural transportation, and encompasses economic activities relating to eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones, and more.

Sustainable Aviation Forum returns with Flying Pages collaboration

A key highlight of AERO Asia 2025 will be the second edition of the Sustainable Aviation Forum, co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (Zhuhai) Airshow Co Ltd and Flying Pages GmbH, a leading annual index for light aircraft. The forum will focus on advancing China’s aviation technology innovation, fostering industrial ecosystem development, and enhancing international technical cooperation.

Dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements in electric-led sustainable aviation technology, the forum will explore market opportunities, facilitate cross-border business connections, and examine viable investment models. It aims to serve as a leading platform to integrate China’s sustainable aviation sector with global markets, driving technological leadership and industry collaboration. Key forum topics include:

  • Electric Fixed-Wing Aircraft
  • Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Aircraft (eVTOL)
  • Electric Propulsion Systems, Energy Sources & Supply Chain
  • Certification & Policy Making
  • Air Traffic Control & Infrastructure
  • Commercialisation Prospects & Use Cases

The forum will play a pivotal role in supporting China’s carbon neutrality goals, positioning sustainable aviation as a critical pathway for the industry’s green transition.

Beyond the forum, AERO Asia 2025 will offer various dedicated platforms to catalyse aviation ventures:

  • Invest Hub: connect with capital partners and pitch opportunities in sustainable aviation.
  • Start-Up Zone: accelerate market entry with cost-effective exhibition packages, mentorship sessions, and investor meetups.
  • Career Gateway: discover talent pipelines and recruitment opportunities across emerging aviation sectors.

During the four-day show, AERO Asia will also feature other industry-oriented events highlighting the low-altitude economy, future urban aero transportation, the digitalisation of low-altitude urban development, as well as various fly-ins and demonstration flights showcasing innovative aircraft models.
