Starting in mid-December, Garuda will put on additional services between Melbourne and Bali on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with Melbourne–Jakarta to operate Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
Garuda said it will also, from October, “gradually increase [Sydney-Jakarta] to 6 flights from October 2025, expanding to daily operations during the peak December/January season”.
“In response to increased demand for travel from Melbourne to Bali, Garuda Indonesia will add four more flights which will total 11 fights per week from Melbourne during peak seasons,” the airline said in a press release.
“These added flight times have been introduced for our passengers who prefer to leave Melbourne after work and return from Bali on a day flight. The traditional timings will remain for those who prefer to make the most of the last day of their holiday and depart Bali on the late evening flight.
“Garuda Indonesia has also increased their Jakarta route capacity to connect to more domestic and international destinations to serve the Corporate/MICE market.
“Sydney will operate an additional two flights, giving a total of six flights a week, and Melbourne will operate one additional flight, giving a total of four times a week.”
Sydney–Denpasar and Melbourne–Denpasar are currently served by Batik Air Malaysia, Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar, Qantas, and Virgin Australia, while Qantas and Garuda Indonesia are currently the only two airlines with services to Jakarta from both airports.
