Australian MRO company Premiair Aviation will soon begin installation and maintenance work on behalf of US-based aircraft float manufacturer Wipaire.

Under the new agreement, Wipaire has named Premiair as its international authorised installation and service centre for its Wipline Floats and Wipaire products.
Premiair Aviation, a Textron company, has three service centres across the country: in Jandakot, Essendon, and the Gold Coast.
Under the deal, Premiair will provide installation and maintenance for Wipline 8750A and 8750S floats, and designated Wipaire modifications for Cessna Caravan models, including single-point fuelling, extended baggage compartment and Aurora Interiors.
Later, once the Premiair team is trained on Wipaire’s full line of float and product solutions for Caravan models, it may expand its installation, service and support capability for all Wipaire product lines to further enhance offering solutions for aircraft located in region.
“As we expand global support of our products, Premiair was our first choice in representation in Australia,” said Chuck Wiplinger, president, and CEO of Wipaire.
“There are dozens of operators and hundreds of aircraft that will be able to receive factory quality installation and maintenance of our products. I am very happy with Premiair’s commitment to quality.”
It comes after CASA last year granted approval for Premiair to service all Cessna, Beechcraft and Hawker turbine aircraft models in Australia.
CASA’s certificate of approval also includes non-type rated piston or turbine aircraft not exceeding 5,700 kilograms as well as piston or turbine engine helicopters not exceeding 3,175 kilograms.
This covers the majority of GA aircraft types flown in Australia.
Textron Aviation acquired Premier in early 2020 and added several of its models to Premiair’s approved types for service list.
